The leadership of IGUOBAZUWA PROGRESSIVE MINDS (IPM WORLDWIDE) strongly condemns the continuous abduction of innocent school children, students, and teachers across Nigeria, particularly the recent disturbing incidents that have once again thrown families and communities into fear, uncertainty, and anguish.
As Chairman of IPM Worldwide, and a concerned Nigerian, I find these acts not only criminal but a direct assault on the dignity, safety, and future of our nation. Schools are places of learning, hope, and development—not places of fear, violence, and captivity.
It is heartbreaking that while many citizens are occupied with political activities, campaigns, and power struggles, innocent children who left their homes in search of education are currently being held against their will, separated from their families, and subjected to unimaginable trauma.
Every child has a fundamental right to education, safety, freedom, and protection. Every teacher deserves to carry out their duties without fear of being kidnapped or attacked. The continued targeting of schools represents a serious threat to national development and must never be normalized.
We therefore call on:
- The Federal Government
To immediately mobilize all available security, intelligence, and emergency resources towards the safe rescue and return of all abducted children and teachers. - Security Agencies
To intensify coordinated operations, strengthen intelligence gathering, and ensure that those responsible for these heinous crimes are apprehended and prosecuted according to the law. - State Governments and Local Authorities
To strengthen security around schools, particularly in vulnerable rural communities, and implement sustainable measures that prevent future occurrences. - Civil Society Organizations, Religious Bodies, Community Leaders, and the Media
To raise their voices and maintain public advocacy until every abducted child and teacher is safely reunited with their families. - The International Community and Human Rights Organizations
To continue supporting efforts aimed at protecting children, promoting safe schools, and addressing the security challenges affecting vulnerable communities.
IPM Worldwide stands in solidarity with the affected families and communities during this painful period. We share in their grief, anxiety, and hope. We urge Nigerians from all walks of life to speak out against these barbaric acts and demand immediate action from relevant authorities.
No child should be kidnapped for seeking education.
No teacher should be punished for imparting knowledge.
No parent should live in fear because their child went to school.
We pray for the safety, protection, and immediate release of all abducted children and teachers and call on all stakeholders to unite in ensuring that they return home unharmed.
Enough is Enough.!
